Yippee, the vacations are here... And here comes the headache all over again for their parents or grandparents. What activities should the children take part in? It's not easy, you might think, to find the right idea to keep them from getting bored or spending all their time on screens... To help you meet this challenge head on, Namaki suggests keeping them busy with a make-up workshop. How does it work? Just follow these three simple steps!

Step 1: Preparing a make-up workshop

Create your own model for inspiration

The make-up workshop is above all a creative and artistic activity. So, before painting their faces, first suggest that children create their future make-up on a sheet of paper: paint, felt pens, crayons and even collage, why not. Of course, you can also find drawings to color on the Internet. At Namaki, we prefer to let children's imaginations run wild... True to life or more abstractThey always have a make-up idea.

Prepare make-up products and accessories

Long-lasting products for dozens of realizations

The must-have product for this workshop is the pallete six colors. With its six water-based shadows, you can create up to thirty different make-up looks. Add a few pencils for lining, drawing or filling. Depending on their age and the details to be reproduced on the skin, make-up artists can choose between a fine or jumbo lead. If your workshop has a theme, you can also purchase one of our Namaki Box which all come with a basic palette of three eyeshadows, two pencils and an ephemeral tattoo board. Added to this is a hair mascara and / or a more specific product (nail polish or glitter powder, for example). For lighter make-up, you can also explore the make-up range with softer, less festive colors than the Disguise range.

Accessories for proper use and storage

Each palette contains a mini brush. If you need to apply make-up and fill in larger areas more easily, you can use the three-brush set. Of course, you'll need a container of water to wet the brush before applying the blush. Be sure to dissolve any excess color in the water before moving on to the next. Use a soft cloth to wipe the brush. Namaki pencil sharpeners, single or double, can be used to sharpen both sizes of pencil. Finally, you can provide a few mirrors.

Step 2: Inside the make-up workshop

From leaf to skin

Now that every child has imagined his or her make-up, it's time to change the medium. And even become the medium! When we think of make-up, we inevitably think of the face. But why limit ourselves to the face? Arms and legs offer additional surfaces. So why not overflow onto that sheet of paper that doesn't fit into a drawing box?

Armed with a mirror, make-up apprentices can reproduce what they've imagined on paper. Depending on age and desire, we offer several variations:

  • have your make-up done by an adult or someone taller than you;
  • make-up yourself ;
  • make each other up

Step 3: After the make-up workshop

All that's left is to admire the result! It's so satisfying to see what you can create. To immortalize the moment, take a photo of each participant with his or her original design and compare. It can also be fun to organize an election for the most beautiful make-up, the one that most closely resembles the original design... And above all, always in a good mood, without making fun of those who may have been less successful. In the end, this make-up workshop was a discovery for everyone. So everyone achieved something, and can be proud of themselves.

💡 If you think of it, you can take a photo of each participant beforehand and make a before/after souvenir montage.

Here's a creative and entertaining workshop that could keep the kids busy for an hour or two. If the workshop is to be followed by a swim, it's best to remove the make-up beforehand. Namaki products remove easily with soap and water. Shall we do it again after a snack?
