Ah, that rainy Sunday! The rain is pounding against the windows, and the idea of going out is far from tempting. Don't panic, it's the perfect opportunity to enjoy some warm family time, with fun activities for young and old. Here are five ideas that will delight the whole household!

Start a family baking session

What could be more comforting than the smell of a delicious cake baking in the oven while it's raining outside? Get out your best aprons and take the whole family on a baking adventure. Cookies, muffins, or even a simple yoghurt cake, choose an easy recipe that the kids can make almost on their own, under your watchful supervision. The fun is guaranteed, between mixing the dough, licking the spoon (always the best step!), and finally feasting all together. Not forgetting the delicious aroma of chocolate, orange blossom or whatever you prefer, which perfumes the whole house!

💡 Let the kids decorate the cakes with colorful toppings: sugar pearls, vermicelli or fruit cut into star or heart shapes. Turn the kitchen into a culinary art studio where everyone personalizes their creation. And why not organize a contest for the most beautiful cupcake decoration?

Turn your living room into a cinema

If you're in the mood to relax, why not organize a home cinema session? Prepare some popcorn, get out the plaids, set up a cosy nest on the sofa, choose a family movie that everyone will enjoy, turn off the lights and off you go for a moment of pure bliss. There's nothing like a captivating story to make you forget the bad weather! To take the home cinema experience to the next level, get the kids involved by having them create movie tickets or the movie poster. Set up a candy stand with homemade snacks and offer a special drink (like hot chocolate with marshmallows) to make the session even more festive.

💡 Alongside the indestructible Disney classics, our favorite of the moment is Artus' film, Un p'tit truc en plus, which has already made over 10 million admissions and is available on VOD ( video on demand ) on certain platforms and on DVD... A great opportunity to raise children's awareness of disability with humor and tenderness.

Organize a magical make-up workshop with Namaki

Children love to dress up, and what better way to transform your living room into a veritable fairy realm ? With Namaki's natural and organic products, you can safely let your imagination run wild. Create tigersand princessesand unicornsor even superheroesall easily by following the tutorial sheets of the make-up palettes or video tutorials. While you're putting make-up on your children (and why not the other way round?), share laughter and moments of complicity. Brush, brush pencil or the brushThis playful activity will stimulate the creativity of the youngest while offering you a unique enchanted parenthesis.

💡 To add a little magic to the make-up workshop, create a mini-show! Once the children are made-up, invite them to play a role, invent a little story and present it to the family. And for the enjoyment of young and old alike, you too can become part of the story. In this case, you can even film the performance for a nice souvenir.

Share a board game

Don't have a new board game to hand? No problem! Have you heard of the hat game? All you need is a hat, a few sheets of paper and some good humor, and you're guaranteed to have a good laugh. To begin, each player writes a word on a piece of paper. You can, of course, fill the hat with lots of paper and as many words. The game then unfolds in 3 rounds:

  • In the first round, players have to describe the word orally to get it guessed.
  • In the second round, the word is mimed.
  • In the third round, you have to guess the mystery word, giving just one word - no more - and no gestures that might lead the other players.

💡 Keep the game going by handing out challenges. To do this, set up a surprise challenge box to draw from during the game. For each word not found, the players will all have a fun challenge to perform together, such as imitating an animal, paying someone a compliment, or singing a song. It's sure to add spice and laughter to every game!

Introduce the family to yoga

For a gentle end to the day, why not try a little family yoga? You can easily find child-friendly videos on the Internet. The idea is not to do perfect postures, but to have fun and discover together simple movements that help you relax. Take a few deep breaths, try some funny postures like the upside-down dog or the tree pose, and above all take advantage of this moment to be in the present moment, together. It's also a great way to let off the day's energy before returning to calm.

💡 Turn the yoga session into a game where each posture has a name invented by the children. They can also come up with fun movements inspired by their favorite animals, for example the "sleeping kitten" or the "pink flamingo". This makes the activity even more interactive and fun.

With these five activities, even the rain won't spoil your family Sunday. Whether it's putting on make-up, cooking, creating, relaxing or laughing, the most important thing is to share happy moments together. And, who knows, you might find yourself looking forward to a rainy Sunday!
